diary of a heart break icon

Pop-rock artist Sierra Jean's Diary of a Heartbreak Icon is an EP that captures heartbreak in its stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. In collaboration with the singer-songwriter, the artist's branding and visual concept for this EP derives from a personal sense of self, an almost limbo state of existence one may feel in the wake of heartbreak. Like writing lipstick on the bathroom mirror, the road to figuring out who you are can be messy. The goal was to encapsulate those feelings in visuals that felt nostalgic by drawing inspiration from the 90's rock and punk scene.

this far – single

The single "this far" is the first release on the EP Diary of a Heartbreak Icon. The song's deep lyrics are masked by its heavy rock nature, and its cover art and visualizer music video were meant to do the same. The single musically encompasses the internal struggle of what I would call a "sink or swim" moment everyone goes through. The visuals represent the end goal when one swims, which, in the words of Sierra Jean, means, "I did not come this far, just to get this far."
